March 2026 Patch Notes

March 2026 Patch Notes

For colleagues across care homes, supported living, fostering, mental health, SEND, and every part of social care.

This update focuses on making Click Learning smoother, clearer and a little less “clicky”. We’ve improved how you open records, how learner progress is calculated, how expired sessions behave, and how refresher courses update. There are also several behind‑the‑scenes improvements to authentication and account settings to keep everything running reliably.

No bugs were harmed in the making of this update.

What’s New

Open records in new tabs with a middle‑click

You can now middle‑click items in reports to open them in new tabs instead of being thrown to the login page. This makes it much easier for managers to look at several learner records at once without needing to rebuild the same report filters each time. A small quality‑of‑life improvement with a big impact on your day.

More accurate learner progress percentages

Learners who belong to more than one service or account will now see their overall progress correctly reflects the sessions they’ve actually completed. This improves accuracy on learner dashboards and reduces confusion for both learners and managers.

Clearer experience when a session expires

If someone’s session times out, Click Learning will now detect this properly and guide them back to where they need to be, instead of silently giving up. No more mystery moments where the screen refuses to cooperate — just a clear, calm redirect.

Automatic updates to course refresher periods

If you change the default refresher period for a course, learners who are booked on that course as a refresher will now be updated automatically. This means everything stays in sync without anyone needing to make manual adjustments.

Behind‑the‑Scenes Improvements

These items don’t change day‑to‑day usage, but they help keep the system reliable and secure for everyone.

Better handling of multi‑factor authentication (2FA)

There is now a cleaner way for system administrators to manage which authentication method an account uses, along with improved handling of user phone numbers. This helps keep learner accounts secure without adding any extra steps for everyday users.

Cleaner admin screens

In the account settings area, certain advanced options — such as 2FA, default course settings and the ability to hide correct answers — are now only visible to system‑level administrators. This keeps things tidier and avoids confusion for local admins.

Background Improvements

Automatic refresher updates running in the background

A new background service ensures refresher dates stay aligned with the defaults set at account level. This helps keep long‑term training plans tidy and accurate without manual admin work.

More reliable session counting

The system now counts course sessions more accurately for users who belong to multiple accounts. This supports fairer tracking, clearer reports, and fewer support queries.

If you need help

If anything feels unexpected after this update, your Click Learning support team is always happy to help — preferably before you resort to yelling at your computer.
