Which Foster Care Standards should I complete

Which Foster Care Standards should I complete

Click has three versions of the Foster Care TSD standards:
  1. Foster Care TSD
  2. Friends and Family (Kinship)
  3. Short Break and Respite
Foster Carers should complete the Foster Care TSD standards unless they meet one of the following criteria:

  1. They are Family or a Friend of the young person they are fostering.  In this case they should complete the  Foster Care Family and Friends standards as they have been adapted to be more appropriate for this situation.
  2. They are only providing a short break or respite for the young person.
Ultimately the Supervising Social worker is responsible for ensuring the Foster Carer has completed the appropriate standards and in some cases they may require Short Breaks Carers to complete the full Foster Care TSD standards if they provide respite services on a regular basis for different young people or if the needs of the young people they support are above what would be expected of a Short Break Carer.
