Title:
About our Safeguarding courses

Summary:
This article explains how our Safeguarding courses are developed and which national principles they follow.

Steps:
  1. Know that all our Safeguarding courses are based on the principles of the Care Act.

  2. Understand that the Care Act guides the standards used by local authority Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Boards and by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

  3. Our courses focus mainly on topics relevant to people working in social care.

  4. The core principles are also useful for people in other sectors, such as police, healthcare, education, personal assistants and the voluntary sector.

  5. Be aware that Multi-Agency Safeguarding Boards include people who use services and organisations such as local authorities, health, police, education, faith groups and voluntary groups.

  6. These organisations work together to follow the same safeguarding principles.

  7. Each local authority and organisation creates its own workforce development strategy. These may have different names. For example, healthcare settings may refer to Intercollegiate Documents.

  8. You can view our full list of courses on the Click Learning website.

Tips or Common Issues:

• Local safeguarding documents may vary by area, so always check your organisation’s guidance.
• If you work outside social care, the main principles still apply, but some processes may differ.
• Your manager can advise which course level is most appropriate for your role.
