About our Safeguarding courses
Summary:
This article explains how our Safeguarding courses are developed and which national principles they follow.
Steps:
-
Know that all our Safeguarding courses are based on the principles of the Care Act.
-
Understand that the Care Act guides the standards used by local authority Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Boards and by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
-
Our courses focus mainly on topics relevant to people working in social care.
-
The core principles are also useful for people in other sectors, such as police, healthcare, education, personal assistants and the voluntary sector.
-
Be aware that Multi-Agency Safeguarding Boards include people who use services and organisations such as local authorities, health, police, education, faith groups and voluntary groups.
-
These organisations work together to follow the same safeguarding principles.
-
Each local authority and organisation creates its own workforce development strategy. These may have different names. For example, healthcare settings may refer to Intercollegiate Documents.
-
You can view our full list of courses on the Click Learning website.
Tips or Common Issues:
• Local safeguarding documents may vary by area, so always check your organisation’s guidance.
• If you work outside social care, the main principles still apply, but some processes may differ.
• Your manager can advise which course level is most appropriate for your role.
